This presentation considers the natural scientific and chance events which allowed first simple, and then, complex life to appear and evolve into human life on Earth and the scientific likelihood of a similar, or equivalent, chain of events occurring elsewhere, including ‘chance events’ such as mass extinctions, Mitochondrial Eve, etc.
