Brunel Women in Engineering Mentors

We are looking for professionals from all engineering sectors, who are interested in becoming mentors for our female students on engineering MSc programmes.

You will be asked to support one of our students by providing invaluable insight, advice and guidance, whether academic or professional, via email, telephone, Skype or meetings in person at least once per month for one year (late September 2014 – early September 2015).

In return, you will enjoy:

  • Meeting bright and enthusiastic postgraduate students who want to develop their careers in engineering

  • Satisfaction of helping students to realise their true potential and reflect upon your career achievements

  • Training in the mentoring process specifically designed for Brunel’s Women in Engineering programme

  • Voluntary mentoring experience to enhance your CV (you will be given a certificate at the end of the scheme)

  • Engagement with a leading engineering University

You can be one of our mentors if you have:

  • Professional experience in the engineering graduate career sector with two-year minimum experience

  • Willingness to promote careers in engineering and support gender diversity

  • A keen interest in supporting students to improve their employability
