How can I find out about events?

Do I have to be logged in to see events?

No: you can see a list of all events in EngX at https://engx.theiet.org/c

If you are logged in, this page will show you events matching your chosen technical interests, with an option to view all events.

Where can I see my local network events?

If you are logged in, you will see forthcoming events organised by your primary local network (followed by other local networks you are interested in) on the EngX home page under ‘Upcoming and local events.’

You can also find events for any local network via the Events page at https://engx.theiet.org/c (choose “View all” before selecting your local network in the filter).

How can I change my primary local network?

Log into www.theiet.org/my and update your primary local network in the ‘MyInterests’ area. The next time you log into the community, your information will be synchronised, and you will see the name of the local network on your profile page.

You can have multiple local networks, but the community will prioritise listings for the primary local network. You can use the filters on the events page to check for more events.

Where can I see technical events?

If logged in, you will see events matching your chosen technical interests on:

-          The home page under ‘Upcoming and local events’ (up to 5 events spanning the next 3 months).

-          The topic pages found via the Explore menu.

-          The Events page, which is pre-filtered by your interests. To see more, select ‘View all’ and use the filters.

How can I change my technical interests?

There are a couple of places you can do this. Read How do I update my interests? for more info.

Will I get notified of new events?

If you have signed up to a digest from the home page, you will receive notifications of events based on your technical interests and your primary local network.
