    Hi All

Name: I am Greg Durnan, rejoining the group after a few years away. I have been a member before and a IEEE-APS member however I like the direction generally that the IET has been taking.

Brief History: I've worked in the antenna field since the mid 1990's first for defense on Satellite Communications Stations. I went back and did a PhD in Reflector Antennas at Griffith University (Australia) in the Radio Science Lab in the late 1990/early 2000's. I spent time in Japan working on MIMO when it was first getting put into WIFI. I then moved on to MRI resonators, GPS antennas and more recently 5G MIMO for both basestations and Vehicles. I have spent the last 15 years in the US working for GE, GM, Freescale, NXP RF and now Wolfspeed RF. More recently my interest is in industrial electromagnetics and propagation in cavities and applications for Civil Systems. My personal interest in the consumer and communications space from a work and commercial perspective has probably come to an end as we have seen so much commoditization in the industry so I see my electromagnetics getting more and more cross-discipline.

Other Interests: Sailing - I originally went to the Australian Maritime College. Flying - its a lot like a boat - a bit wobbly but its nice to go up on a nice day.

  • Hello All,

I am Kwashie Amartei Anang and currently a lecturer at ips-international where i lecture digital and analogue electronics. I did my PhD in wireless communications and during my MSc i did design a horn  antenna for the Wimax frequency band hence, my interest in antenna and propagation because i am still carrying out research in that area.

My other research interest are looking into development of physical layer for 6 G, using the IoT to improve farming especially livestock production in Africa and  RF systems in general.

Looking forward to engage with all in a productive way.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    glad to join the group.

I started my career working as a mathematician at a government agency, I then moved to Nokia for around 15 years helping to develop some of the 1st internal antennas in mobile phones and becoming antenna group leader for the UK, a brilliant job with some superb people - loved every minute of it. After that I worked for a small medical company developing some cellular connected medical products. I'm currently working at Sky as head of department looking after Antennas and RF (did you know we designed all our own hardware in the UK?). I still love antenna design, antenna problems and using simulation tools.

I enjoy making and mending things no matter what they are - an interest shared with many engineers
