Confessions of an Electrician...

So while we’ve not been able to log into the community (you can do so now if you didn’t already know) I’ve been keeping myself out of mischief Blush by going through some of the discussion topics on the old Wiring Regs forum and came across this one: Walking off site where some of you were sharing stories about your experiences with client's pets while on the job.

So I thought it would be a bit of fun to ask you to share some of your funny/bizarre or just weird stories (keeping it relatively clean and protecting the privacy of others please!) from any jobs you’ve been on or done.

… And I’ll send some swag to the author of the story that gets voted the ‘Most helpful/liked’ from the community so don't forget to hit that 'Good Answer' link on any that make you chuckle! (Log in required)

  • Mr Perspicacious is his dressed up name for use on Sundays and special days. Normal days he`s Mr Bod and some days he`s Mr Bad .

I didn`t see his post on this thread! I`ll look again, it must be me old age!
  • Ebee,

It was one of the first ones (about number three or four) so you need to go to page one to see it.

    Alasdair

  • perspicacious:

I had an hours wet drive to get home to dry off and change

At least you arrived home fully clothed.... I too got soaked through having jointed a damaged cable in a very deserted site so I stripped to my shreddies having put the wet and dirty clothes in the boot and drove the 60 miles home relatively dry. I should really have thought about my on street parking location at home.....................

    Regards

    BOD

Just realised the best way is to repeat it here!

  • Oh Yes thanks for that. I do remember seeing that one at the time.
  • PS ref BOD, a little bird once told me what BOD stood for. Can`t remember right now but it is on the lines of me being ebee though
  • I wouldn’t have been able to spell perspicacios, or even say it without getting the nickname of Hattersley, but in the great British spirit of fair play, taking part and nobly losing, I though that I’d better check. “Formed from a Latin in the 1630s” “sharp sighted” “able to see through”  sounds like a peeping tom in fancy dress. A worthy winner indeed  ?

Does anyone know if there is any practical use for the novelty sized foam replica of the current regs book other than landfill?

Well WB, I did say it was used when in a friendly mood and I hadn't realised I'd been such a sourpuss for the last decade! I have a reason the last 18 months though.....................

    BUD (just for you WB)
