Air quality for domestic aircraft flights

Hi guys,

I'll be needing to take some domestic airline flights between Europeans countries when the border restrictions are lifted.  I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on aircraft air filtering systems and are they geared up to stop the transmission of SARS-cov-2 (Covid-19)?  Thanks.
  • It reads that its probably better to wear a mask, gloves and not to make contact with anything. Keep the travelling distance to a minimum so that you don't need to feed or use the toilets. Sorry the information given provides no security.

The Government advice is to use your common sense recognising that closer the contact the more likelihood of becoming infected, there's no guarantee of surviving therefore we must use our senses to protect ourselves, those around us and those we have responsibility for.

The most sensible thing is to identify by testing the population, isolating those who are infected, impose draconian measures against those who disobey the rules which are made clear at the outset, control, test and monitor the movement in and out of the country.

To take charge of this viral attack we must be clear and demand that individuals act responsibly..

Its pretty obvious that you don't pussy foot around with a killer!

However, we've tested the NHS for the last 3 months, and we know that we can deal with the number of infections that produce 40,000 deaths.

There is a view that as long as we can keep the infection rate low enough that we don't exceed the number of infections we've already had, then we can crack on.

Basically, if we can deal with 40,000 dead in 3 months, then we can cope with another 40,000 deaths over 6 months without to much drama (other than to the 40,000 of course.

Basically, I think that's where we are heading, and the mixed messages coming from HMG and the various devolved assemblies/parliaments is just feeding into the #covidiot mentality exhibited by the number of people who really do think this is all over - and thanks for the holiday.

The alternative is the country literally going bankrupt

  • The idea is slightly more refined - if we do not run short on suitably equippwed  hospital places, then perhaps half of those who would otherwise die can be saved. But I agree, this will burn more or less slowly through the world population until nearly everyone has either had it, or been vaccinated.  Of course, that only works if you cannot have it twice.

Also if with no special precautions, then one infected person would have infected 3, you do not need to do that much in terms of isolation to reduce that ratio of  reinfection to about 1 maintaining a constant slow burn rate.  I suspect this is unpalatable to those who think it is all over, but it is inevitable.
