Hi, folks, I'm just interested to see how many people are actually observing our Community site? Please post some sort of comment, just to show you were here?
Three on Saturday and three on Sunday so far. How many spotted this whilst browsing & how many came in response to a notification email? What can we add that would make the site worth the visit?
I spotted it via an email notification. I don't check the IET sites very often, I'm afraid. BTW, anyone know how I can edit my name? Not even my mother used to call me Timothy.
Tim, it took me ages to stop them called me "Alexander" - I think you need to email the membership people and hope for the best. It is probably something that should be added to the MyIET options, how you want to be addressed. "Language, Timothy!".
Your name on the MyCommunity profile is determined by your name as in your record on the IET members database. If you don't mind being referred to by a shortened version of your full first name then you can either contact the IET membership and customer service dept and ask them to change your record or change it yourselves online through your MyIET profile.
I believe any changes take effect overnight when the database and our web server synchronize.
