Exeter ElexShow?

Anyone going to the ElexShow in Exeter?


I'm thinking about joining some of my colleagues from the Wiring Regulations team on the IET stand there.... ?

    Good thinking OMS, nobody ever speaks to anyone else in Coventry?


    Lisa, if you rebook your hols and persuade the rally to rebook too then you could get sent to Harrogate and be handy for Lancashire, Yorkshire, the dales, the lake etc etc.

    Oh and learn to speak proper like we does up here, flat caps, cloggs and ferrets, civilisation

    I missed Exeter because I went to York and Lancaster last week. Nice holiday though! I'll have to see Lisa another time.

    Funny story from the Exeter show, I was talking with a visitor and we got onto the subject of hometowns. My hometown is London so I invariably slip back into my hardcore London accent and out of my adopted 'North Hertfordshire/Posh London accent' usually if I'm anywhere within the M25 or south of North Herts. When I said to the visitor that I was from London he immediately said 'North London'! I was amazed that he could tell the difference between a North and South London accent... ?


    I've heard though that you can encounter a different regional accent in the UK every 10 miles.

    I suspect that's true - as an army brat, I spent my yuff trying to decipher just what the hell people were saying to me via a huge variety of dialect and accents - and that's before you start trying to decipher the slang !!

    Well Lisa, I do hope you get up to Elex Harrogate.

    Yorkshire Dales, Lake District not too far and handy for Scarborough and Blackpool.

    Why call it the Lake District? It`s only got one lake! Still it`s very pretty though.

     




     

    ? Unfortunately ebee‍ I'm on leave on the dates of the Harrogate show and will be sitting on the site of a mountain in Greece waiting for Rally bikes to go past so I can take photos of them.... ?
