Electric shocks

Hi i was admitted to hospital a few days ago (am home now) with chest pains I won't go into medical details but the cardiac doctor who saw me said they want to put me to sleep then deliberately shock me to bring my heart back into rhythm  now I've always tried to avoid shocks so was wondering is this really a good idea? I know it's DC from a bank of condensers and not 50 cycle mains but all the same I'm not keen
  • Just a quick update I will be having my electric shock to my heart done on 22 of November wish me luck!!
  • I'm sure you won't need it - but the best of luck anyway!!

  • Yes Good luck Kelly
  • you will be in excellent hands, but digits crossed for you also :)

  • As one who faces something similar, I wish you all the best. ?
  • You will be fine Kelly.  The only "Problem" I had was that they had to shave my chest first. That was OK, but I felt rather stubbly for a week or so afterwards...

I have read that it is best not to put any creams or lotions on your skin prior to the procedure.

  • Hi all I've had it done and so far I feel fine I noticed my toes are not nearly as blue as they were and I feel really warm which is unusual as I'm a chilly girl normally. Thanks everyone for your help and support love Kelly Marie
  • Very pleased to hear that the procedure went well and that you are feeling a benefit already.

    Have a good weekend.
