110v transformer feeding db

there is a DB board fed from a centre tapped transformer only on single pole breakers. The board feeds instrumentation. Is there any issue changing it to 110v and tie the neutral to earth there is no socket outlets fed on this so can’t see it as an issue?
  • Obviously it depends on the scale of the installation, I was thinking a couple of fuses on the output side to the transformer and a RCD to protect the fixed installation, then a couple of smaller fuses on the input to the appliance with the RCD protection already in place, would fit the bill in most circumstances.
  • So for 110 you’ll need double the current of what you’d get from 240 to get the equivalent disconnection times?
  • No, same current, but half(ish) the loop impedance to get the same current from the lower voltage.
