Residential Sprinkler Pump Protection

The British Standard for domestic sprinklers stipulates where a pump is required to boost the water pressure circuit breakers are not to be used for protection. On commercial installations we would have previously used a lockable red enclosure with main switch and MCB. Does anyone have any ideas on suitable solutions for the domestic sprinkler scenarios using a cartridge fuse or similar?
  • In at least the German rules, the screw in fuse holder is treated much like the screw in lamp holder, in that there is a very specific exception that permits its use. I presume that in other countries that permit them that is also true. The ones in that pic. are incomplete, in that there is a diameter limiting part in front of the live tip contact, that allows the lower rated fuses (slimmer) to fit the higher rated holders but not the reverse.

Pre Brexit I'd argue that you could invoke the harmonisation legislation that sees the regs of another EU state as equivalent to ours to permit then here, but maybe not now.
