New install for social alarm system PSU

Hi

I'm going to let the photo speak for it's self. The RCBO is powering a PSU with battery back up, which is powering a social housing alarm system. All the equipment is mounted in a steel cabinet on the outside wall of a bungalow. The supply is a TNCS.

All comments will be gratefully received.

Thanks

  • but what really is going to cause it to trip?

The SPD downstream of the 30mA incomer could well mean nuisance tripping - as surges will be diverted to PE - but otherwise I agree the PSU shouldn't leak anything like enough to trouble an RCD in normal service (unless it's got another SPD of course).

  • What! How do they justify that? Such a set up is in the book on the Standard Circuit diagram, page 555.

  • Thanks to those who replied. I think its fair to say the RCD main switch needs to go.
