  • Firstly Chris if I was still working then I guess that I would have to just accept that LED are a fact of life I fully see that I would need to give my paying customers the best or most cost effective lighting product after all business comes first. I personally won't have them I suppose its my way of kicking back at the people who gave me grief about it to start with. I am lucky I have boxes of bulbs given to me by a friend  so I'm good for a while yet. To Peter I had no idea Flirida got that cold I've only Been there in summer or autumn  I remember one year it was so hot even the locals were having a whinge about it if I remember correctly the temp was about 115 degrees Fahreheight. I was awell cooked Kelly that Holiday

  • Hello Chris:

If you view the referenced eledlights web site you will notice they sell LED magnetic strip retrofit kits with various light outputs and colors which take about 5 minutes to install.

For "Bulb shaped" fixtures I select the color (Kelvin) and light output of the LED, to the location in the house (example the bedroom is different to the hallway).

  • Hello Kelly:

I think you were quoting the "feels like" temperature (which includes humidity) with your 115 degrees F. Here on the East coast we get a breeze from the ocean and it is closer to 105 F. max.

When I lived/worked in Phoenix (it's a dry heat) sometime we got up to about 120 F.

In fact the planes sometimes can not fly out of Phoenix airport because it is too hot.

  • Hello Kelly:

Did you ever use Carbon Filament lamps?

    I did at work!

  • The temperature I mentioned in Florida may have been a feels like rather than an actual temperature I really don't know it was a long time ago at least 15 years maybe 20 doesn't time fly when your having fun! I've never used carbon filament lamps only ever seen one in the science museum in London. I have seen them demonstrated on a youtube video by someone in Australia

  • Hello Kelly:-

The statement should be "Doesn't time flies when you are (fully) retired" .

I remember visiting a UK museum some years ago and seeing a electronic product that I actually worked on.

  • Yeah that really makes you feel old. I was chatting to my friend Katie about music she didn't know some if the artists I said. Then it hit me im old!!

  • Hello Kelly:

You didn't state, in your last message, the type of music that you like to remember.

As you are so much younger than me, my CD selection goes back through a lot more different periods.

When I arrived in Toronto in the late 1950's the major pop hit was "The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton - they had a special version made for Canada. It changed all references to "British troops" to "Rebels".

    What happened to your records?

  • I like a lot of different music I grew up in the 70s and 80s  I like especially music if the early to mid 80s I even have tapes from then that I listen to from time to time. I was lucky that my mum gave me her small record collection from the late 50s to mid sixties. Yes I love music from 50s sixties 70 eighties and even some stuff from the 1990s  after that it All got a bit rubbish in my opinion
