Will new carbon-zero materials be cost effective?

Given the tendency for governments and companies to go for the cheapest bidder in major contracts, will the new net zero materials ever be cost effective enough that people will specify them for large buildings?

  • Good question.  I think that right now, we see that there is a kind of 'green premium' for low carbon products and materials, but with economies of scale and further roll out this will decrease hopefully.

We are however, seeing greater focus on lower carbon solutions as companies also need to meet there own carbon reduction targets so in the future carbon could (and should) be a factor in major contracts
