I'm not sure grid batteries are a good idea - smart grids are expensive and its not obvious who funds the smartness. Batteries in the home look like a better answer. It creates smart customers, allows variable tariff energy, resilience and load levelling, These batteries can be monetised by energy companies and paid down gradually.
