In this webinar, Peter J. Hobson, a doctoral researcher at the University of Nottingham, will discuss ongoing work using the COMSOL Multiphysics software to simulate hybrid active–passive shielding systems. These systems are designed using a new analytical model developed at the University of Nottingham and generate accurate magnetic fields over large regions inside cylindrical magnetic shields. Multiphysics simulation of these systems enables them to be tested in real-world contexts, where shields are of finite magnetic permeability, thickness and have entry holes. Furthermore, multiphysics software can be used to calculate shielding efficiency in simulated real-world scenarios.
This presentation will include a live demonstration and a Q&A session during which there will be the opportunity to ask questions.
