CEng for assistant engineer

I have a good friend who works with me as a subordinate. He is having a good academic background who completed IET accredite post graduate degrees as well. He possesses all the comptencies more than enough to obtain the charter. However his designation is assistant engineer. Will this be a problem in taking CEng status?

    The designation (title) is not important. What is important that he meets all requirements of UK-SPEC.

    I would urge him (and you) to download the latest version to ensure what is required.
