  • Saim Memon is a Lecturer in Energy, Oil & gas and Renewables at the School of Engineering, Science & Technology, North East Scotland College. He is specialized in Solar Thermal Engineering, Vacuum Science, Smart Building Design and Retrofits with Vacuum Insulation, Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering. He is an Honorary Secretary at the Institute of Physics-Vacuum Group, committee member at The IET North Scotland-Aberdeen, past-vice-chairman at the IET East Midlands, UK and a Reviewer of Elsevier journal: Energy & Building.

     


    Previously he worked as a Technologist-Research Engineer at The Technology Research Centre Ltd, where he worked with a team to support companies in introducing and developing new products and processes utilising science and technology as tools to deliver. 


     


    He has more than two years of part-time teaching experience for the degree of MSc Renewable Energy Systems Technology, School of Electronic, electrical & Systems Engineering at Loughborough University, UK, for the modules of Solar Thermal Systems, Energy Storage, Biomass and Hydro Power.


     


    Before that he was a doctoral researcher funded by EPSRC UK scholarship for the study of PhD from Oct2013-Dec2013 at Loughborough University, UK. He did his MSc in Mechatronics from Staffordshire University, UK, in 2010 and BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology in 2008.
