city and guilds 2921

I have completed the IET Electric Vehicle charging equipment installation course, and I now would like to complete a practical to gain the city and guilds 2921-31.

Is that acceptable?

Who/ where do I contact?

  • Do you have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation?

As I understand it if you don’t then the answer will be, you can’t do it.

  • This course is intended for practicing electricians as part of the assessment for this qualification. Learners must hold one of the following and supply a copy on the first day of the course:

    • 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
    • 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
    • 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification
    • 2356 Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker
    • 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
    • Other Awarding Organisations equivalences will also be acceptable
    • Equivalent historical qualifications

    or

    • ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card

If your qualification from the list above is more than 5 years old you must show an 18th Edition Qualification to show you are up to date with the latest regulations.

  • I have all the obvious qualifications yes, 2330 lvl3 18th edition 2394/2395 etc

also, a 2396 in electrical design lvl 4

I know I don't need to do the full 2921 course because of the IET course completed

  • That’s a no?

I think at the last count I have fourteen City and Guilds including the C&G EV, but could not do it now.

  • Oh ok, when I first completed the course, I believe it was an option but maybe it's changed.

Seems strange through because the city and guilds course is based on the IET course

  • I believe it changed around September 2022.
