Entry into ICS/OT Cybersecurity

Does anyone know, what is the best practical way to enter ICS/OT Cybersecurity field for a Control system professional ?

I have 20+ experience in hardware and software engineering for DCS, PLC systems but completely new in OT Cybersecurity field.

So, what is the best practical way to do that like the "good training course name", "good certification course" etc. It is purely OT cybersecurity and NOT "IT Cybersecurity"which is very vast.

  • Hi Aji,

Others responded well on this question. Based on my expertise in Industrial Cybersecurity I started with NIST-800-82 base foundation and now they developed advanced. I studied as Cevn listed CISA trainings and those are completely free and even I attended hands-on at Idaho for 301L training its a great learning with the team. James suggested Exida also nice. Developed Cyber Informed Engineering as well with DOE here in US. Do connect with Linkedln and you can see great potential in ICS/OT Cybersecurity. Now I am in Cyber Physical Systems Masters from Georgia Institute of Technology.
