Has Anyone Used EmphasisEngineering.com for Registration Support?

Hi everyone,

I recently came across a website called emphasisengineering.com, which offers guidance and mentoring for professional engineering registration (such as CEng, IEng, P.Eng., etc.).

I'm curious to know if anyone here has used their services or come across them before. If you have any experience—positive or otherwise—please feel free to share. It would be great to hear how helpful they were, whether their support met your expectations, and if they genuinely added value to your registration journey.

Looking forward to your insights!

Thanks in advance.

  • Interestingly, it only supports IMechE, IET, ICE and IChemE. for the UK, What happens if you want to go through one of the more specialised institutions? The contact details on the website are a French mobile phone., those on the LinkedIn profile are Toronto, Canada.

I would agree with Lisa, PEIs tend to offer that service free of charge. The only issue is that there are only so many volunteers. So this looks slightly suspect to me, but then there are lots of example of companies that charge for services that are offered for free or lower cost by the original organisation (eTA's being an example).

There are no details on the founders/owners or staff. I'd be deeply suspicious of anyone offering support who didn't have some form of professional registration themselves. That doesn't mean you can't offer support if you don't have PR yourself, but having it gives greater familiarity with the process. I can find one CEng MIET person on LinkedIn who claims to work for the organisation - maybe that is the sole person.

Note here, the PEIs give training to their assessors and mentors (and not just the IET does this), so even if they achieved their CEng decades ago under a different system (like me), then they are always trained to be up to date with the latest process.

I also found this course and others on Udemy...

  • Thank you for your helpful comments. I have also noted that the company in question has provided a sample report for the IET (project-based), and the author claims it is a very good example. You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXob1SB2vIk.

Many PEIs, such as CIBSE and IMechE, provide competence-based sample reports to assist candidates. Unfortunately, I have searched the IET website but could not find any sample reports. Having access to specimen reports would be extremely beneficial to candidates, as they provide valuable insight into the level of detail and structure expected in an application.
