Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice as I explore a career pivot. I recently started in a Process Improvement role within the FMCG industry, but I’ve realised I’m not greatly motivated by this path long term. My background is in MEng Mechanical Engineering, and I’d like to move toward a role that is more design-centric and tech-focused, where I can apply both creative and technical problem-solving skills.
Given the current job market, I’d really appreciate guidance on:
How best to identify and secure opportunities in design/technology-driven roles (e.g., product design, industrial design, or tech innovation).
Key skills to prioritise developing or highlighting to make myself competitive in these areas.
Networks, platforms, or professional communities worth engaging with to connect with the right employers and opportunities.
Any insight from those who’ve made a similar transition, or who work in design/tech roles, would be really valuable.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
