Query on Current Lead Time for CEng Application Assessments

I have two mentees who are in the process of applying for CEng registration. They submitted their applications a couple of months ago, but the assessments have not yet been carried out. Could you please advise on the current lead time for CEng application assessments? Many Thanks.

  • Without wanting to distract from the question, just a warning that I have two applicants who submitted almost a year ago and are still both waiting for interviews...waiting times have been very long recently. One of them took about 6 months to get to initial assessment. Hopefully things are speeding up now...?

    I am quite shocked to hear that your applicants / mentees have had to wait a year without getting to PRI.

  • Hi Andy, thank you for your information. I have also been waiting for more than 9 months since I was notified that I would be processed to PRI. Till now, I still have not received an expected timeline about my PRI arrangement.

    Could you please advise anything we can do besides sending emails to profreg@theiet.org?

    Following your message I raised this on our internal discussion forum, the answer is that using that email is definitely the best thing to do. Lead times for new applicants are being quoted at 28 weeks, but there is a big backlog to clear (due to changes that occurred earlier this year that caused some disruption).
