We have received a few emails recently from those seeking to understand how to access higher education, especially PhDs and further study and as most of our support is based more specifically around registration I thought i would reach out and ask a wider audience here.
A couple of starting point questions, but of course feel free to add your own knowledge and experience
- How do you secure a PhD in terms of funding, opportunities, what are the eligibility criteria (in general)?
- How do you identify a topic for study, or an area of interest and how to you define this?
- What are the different options in terms if industrial development, research, teaching opportunities etc
If you have been through this route, what guidance would you give and what are you experiences (if you are happy to share) that others can learn from and what would you recommend (or do differently).
