Have a look on the Engineering Council website for the UKSPEC version 4 framework. This explains all about registration and requirements. There are also recognition agreements in place from other parts of the world so existing registration can be transferred/recognised.

Are you aware of the IET's One-to-one support for Professional Registration?  It might be a good place to start as we have webinar sessions, and experienced staff teams who can advise.  

The interview itself would be part of the application process, so you'd need to be a member of the IET and submit an application first but we're happy to help at every stage.  If you join in the next few weeks there is also an upcoming Member Only Event in London (and online) that covers all of the aspects of membership.

The standard route to CEng requires BEng and MEng degrees. But that is only the standard route. If you can show that you have an equivalent level of education, training and experience, then that will do instead. So, for example, you could have a relevant BSc degree with years of training and experience, and could put that forward instead.
