Crane Camera system to improve safety

Hi, I work in a logistics environment where Automated cranes operate at high speed and have been looking to fix cameras onto the beds of the cranes and relay the signals to screens outside of the automation. This will help in breakdown situations as the engineers do not have to climb up maybe 7 levels high to resolve a simple fault, they can look at the screens and recover the cranes quickly and safely. My questions is around how to get the signal strength to an acceptable level over a distance of 90 metres with current Wi-fi or similar technology. We can create a credible picture at 50 to 60 metres but this becomes an issue when the distance between the cranes transmitter and receiver goes above the 60 metre distance to the full aisle length of 90 metres. The layout is multiple cranes in Automated picking system.

  • Hi Lee

I work for a System Integrator that manufacture cranes, infact we have installations that are run by your comapny I believe. We have several different methods of installing camera systems on SRM's, from integrating into bus systems or WiFi.

I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Regards

    Paul Roman.
