The European Commission is proposing two new European regulations aimed at improving consumer product safety and the functioning of the European internal market through effective market surveillance. Although these are aimed at simplifying the current legislation, the UK Government has concerns about some of the proposals and is running a consultation to seek views on the proposals and how they might be improved.
What do you think?
If you are interested in contributing to the consultations, you can see the proposals and details of how to respond on the Gov.UK website at https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/product-safety-and-market-surveillance-package-proposal-for-new-european-regulations. The consultation closes on 4 Sep 2013.
