    Hi all,

Simon here time served machinist within the medical device industry originally, however now I work mainly within the nuclear sector from my own Ltd company. Although my career has taken me more towards the design and consultancy side of engineering I still have an active interest in manufacturing especially in the UK! There are some terrific companies doing some extrodianry things and we need to be proud of, nurture and build on the manufacturing successes of these companies so that once again manufacture in the UK is world leading. Due to the industries I work in I am aware of the pain caused with some of the requirements placed on manufacturers and would like to explore how commonplace some of the requirements are within the sector, how the manufacturing sector adapts to these requirements and the possibilities of more up front supplier engagement.

I am interested in learing more about new processes and technologies, tooling developments, CAM anything that can drive a good discussion.

    Kind Regards

    Simon
