First of all very nice to meet you all, I hope you and families are safe and well.

I stared work at BAE SYSTEMS in 1991 working and training as an aircraft maintenance technician during which time studied part-time and completed an Engineering Degree, after which was appointed a junior Engineer position with the Flight Test Instrumentation (F.T.I.) department at Warton aerodrome (Nr Blackpool) in 2000.

My current role is a Lead support Engineer and one of the SMEs for ground & airborne Telemetry still at BAE SYSTEMS which is a prime contractor for the MOD and have many years of experience dealing with the costumer on many levels. Prior to this role I managed an Engineering Laboratory manufacturing and developing prototypes and small batch manufacture for both local and export customers.

I joined the Institute of Electrical Engineers in June 2000 along with the STEM-NET ambassador’s scheme, and helped as out as IEE YM event organiser with John Flavin, Eric Sarti and Andy Marland.
I have been and still am an active STEM ambassador, helping out at BAE SYSTEMS events, IET careers and science events such as the Lancashire Science Festival at UClan . For many years now I have been the one of the department’s POC for apprentices and graduates organising work experience, training and development plans.

I have recently been a guest speaker at the Manchester Telemetry TPN and
Colloquium on Antennas, Wireless and Electromagnetics (CAWE) events of which I enjoyed meeting interesting professionals of which were all  very welcoming as a new addition into the IET Technical Network communities. If you have a chance of being a guest speaker and presenting a paper, have a go, as it's a great feeling to share your knowledge and meet new colleagues and friends.

All the very best and stay safe and well,

    Fred
