I see the reason for the suggestion, so don't want to dismiss it completely, but the possibility of demoting the I.Eng status was my biggest concern. To offset that, the lack of uptake is a serious concern, but we have to be careful that, in our attempt to overcome that, we don't debate the whole. Those who are potential I.Eng registrants really are the bedrock of the profession.
