ARE CENG AND IENG EQUAL IN STATUS

Can we say that the CEng and IEng be considered equal titles in professional status or IEng is inferior than CEng.

As the Application Form for both CEng and IEng is same.

    To Moshe &
    Andrew banks,

    How can we
encourage technicians to start and to to gain experience to your
standards when we have a PEI that has lost its way,

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Moshe,

I see that you have made
CEng the hard way, you are a complete engineer.

    C Eng requires a Master
Degree, most CEng on this blog do not have MEng.

    I have been mentoring
master students in France, they carry out a professional project.
Three master students would do half the work of a PE. They are
assessed by their university professors after they have written a
monograph on their project work. They are well paid for their work
which is part of the department’s overall project. I think this is
acceptable for higher grade recognition. They will have an
engineering diploma Grande Ecole for life.

    If IEng write monographs
on their projects which will be six times more important than a
Master project, they will be reviewed by an academic authority and
    eligible for CENG ECUK.

    ·
In the UK C Eng requires a
Master degree and four years of work experience to UK
    Spec.

    ·
    You have to be registered
with a UK PEI, you application for C Eng has to be submitted by
    your PEI.

    ·
You have to be in a
responsible engineering post, or studying, or between contracts to
    be registered C Eng.

To be a member of a PEI
you have to be recommended by members as in the Free Masons or the
Golf Club. This is a very old English tradition. You have to be
reviewed by members to be accepted.

    This is the first
objection to CEng registration. You have to please some very
    unpleasant persons.

To be C Eng your PEI has
to review your application and work record; this is futile. A CV
and Diploma are legal documents; that is all that is legally
required – Jon Prichard, CEO ECUK, personal correspondence to J
    Gowman.

Our PEI - IET, requires a
peer review by prominent PEI voluntary members. Who are these Peers
and what do they know of your branch of work? There is no one in
IET that could check my work unless he is a spy. I cannot even tell
    you what I did.

    If the members do not
approve of your application for subjective reasons, you are
    rejected.

    Who are the Peers? What
qualifications do they have to review someone from a different
    domain of engineering?

    Let’s see who has been
    blogging and rejecting I Eng.

*We have BSc MBA, is this
    CENG UKSpec?

    *We have a scientific
Mass Spectrometry expert who insults his fellow members who have N
times more experience in mass spectrometry than he does, in fact he
is an I&C computer programmer, and has no scientific experience
of the mass spec technology other than his little
    instrument.

    *We have nuclear reactor
electrical engineers. They are not allowed to take initiative, they
would cause another Chernobyl. Electrical generation is not nuclear
    engineering.

    *They do not meet UKSpec,
and they are retired, a second reason for not being
    CEng.

    Elsewhere in the world,
you study, train and pass examinations, and then you are certified
    as an engineer.

In the UK if you have
IEng registration, at under 30, then you change direction, take 5
years degree studies, in another engineering domain, then undertake
two master degree projects and Uni-master studies in other
technologies, and apply for CEng, because you want equal status at
work and equal pay, you find that you are blocked.

    If you sponsors are Nobel
Laureates, Heads of foreign R&D centres, leading international
project engineers, but not British and not Members of a  PEI,
you will be systematically refused CEng PEI, not eligible for CEng
ECUK. It happened to me 5 times. That’s enough for me to question
    this comedy of process
    errors.

    This is what has to
    change
    .

    C Eng is required for
work because those that write the job specs are CEng and call for
CEng only. Not a legal requirement. Not an honest
    request.

    What sort of
qualification is this? CEng is not a quality status it is a class
    status with no value.

    Firstly clear out all the
pseudo CEng in IET and all PEIs.

    Moshe you must be the
only true CEng in IET : fully trained, Licence and Master, and
    holding an engineering post.

    It was proposed at the
amalgamation of IIE & IEE, that IEng with a master and a work
record meeting UKSpec would be automatically transferred to CEng
and proposed for ECUK CEng registration. (note CENg with HNC or BSc
    remained CEng-IET).

    IET has the authority to
do this but IET has been taken over by those that do not meet
UKSpec, are false CEng and are purely Electrical or IT
    PEs.

    Why does IET not respect
    its constitution?

IET is not run by its
majority; it is run by its minority (CEng) who do not meet the
grade. If you dispute this, just look at the
    statistics.

No young PE in his right
mind will ask for I Eng if he has a BSc.

    Engineer jobs are set by
CEng managers, of course they will not ask for I Eng.

    ·
    What are PEIs
    for?

    ·
    Why aren’t PEs registered
with ECUK by their academic examining boards without peer
    reviews?.

    ·
    Why does IET not hold
courses and examinations for changing status from Technician to I
    Eng to CEng?

If IET is not capable of
doing this, then bring in City & Guilds to help qualify our
    members progression.

    Yes, IEng and CEng are
different on the day of registration.

    An IEng can surpass a
CEng if he carries on learning, engineering and
    progressing.

    A CEng that does not
progress should be sent down and struck off the EC UK
    register.

    A CEng who manages should
join the institute of management or IET should bring in a new
    management grade.

    PEI, ECUK registration is
as well thought out as BREXIT, hot air and nothing to follow, just
    a deflated future.

    CEng is a ‘UK class’
superiority grade not an engineering qualification, it needs to be
    revised.

    CEng equals FEANI Eur
Ing, equals I Eng what logic! This must change with BREXIT , I Eng
is FEANI Eur Ing by definition, tough on UK CEng!

    Get to work; start
recognising the I Eng and BSc PEs who are the future of engineering
    and technology.

    Good luck to Technicians
that join IET, and to Technicians that study to gain IEng
    status.

    For the IEng that meet
    CEng status, start fighting for your rights. You do not need Peers;
the CEO ECUK has clearly stated this. You must use the IET rules,
get yourselves on the committees, Council and
    Board.

Here’s the catch 22, you are so
busy, as I was, studying, working and commuting that you do not
even have time for your family, let alone your learned society.
That is why retired electrical CEng take over and ruin this
fabulous PEI, that should be scientific, technology and engineering
    for all grades and genders.

    Not a ticket club for
    CEng jobs.

    Moshe, you have CEng as
the UK does not have anything better to offer.

    In the UK, in certain
establishment organisations, you could not work with your
qualifications and experience alone. You would need friends and
sponsors. Is this a fair way to treat our children, just because we
    were treated this badly?

    I have had more than
enough of UK CEng corruption and biases, I think I will write a
book about it. change must come. Or the Book; it was written
in the 1980’s about corruption in the UKAEA and the Fusion project,
only Free Masons were recruited, there must be a reference in the
British library, it was sold out in Oxford.

    IET Members should start
stating what they want, need and expect from their learned society.
The IET President asked this question.

    Why?
