I think, you have replied first time in this thread. I dont know whether have you read all previous replies or not. Anyway, you are highlighting the point of "Radical". Here one thing very necessary to explain that Professional Councils like SCUK and ECUK are something else and Professional Institutes like IET, IMechE, BCS etc, are some thing else. If i endorse your point then i would suggest that there is not any need of too many Professional Institutes, only SCUK and ECUK are enough, these councils should not award licences or franchise their titles through these Institutes.
In most countries, there are only professional councils as authority in public/govt. capacity and various professional associations/societies in private capacity. These Councils do not award licenses to those private associations/socities, like UK.
