  • Hello IET Community,

My name is Venkata Srikanth (Srikanth). I graduated in BTech (ECE) from Dr M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, India.

I am pursuing my Master's degree in Microelectronics: Systems and Devices at Newcastle University.
Having immense interest in Mathematics and Physics, I have been into solving problems, logical thinking and able to perform in a challenged environment from my schooling. My academics have given me a strong base in building my interest to pursue the undergraduate course in electronics stream. My hunger to get practical knowledge guided me in developing technical and communication skills. I was fortunate in taking part of many technical events, workshops which made me decide research in the core domains of electronics. Head of our Department has helped me improve technically by encouraging to study articles, magazines and courses related to electronics. As a result, I became a regular reader of ‘Electronics for you’ magazine and learnt courses from ‘NPTEL’.
I had learnt the industrial use of electronic devices during my internships which eventually created an allure in taking up the master’s course. During my internship at BSNL, where I coordinated with the professionals for a project which eventually became my final year project in B. Tech. It challenged me with new situations, tempting me to come up with varied strategies to analyze. That experience has enhanced my abilities in discussing with a group, leading from the front.
Apart from studies, I play sports frequently. They have taught me to view responsibility as a chance to prove reliability and being impartial, instead of taking advantages of it. I was taught great lessons by playing cricket such as: performing as a team, adapting to changes quickly, sharing the credit to all the members. I give credits to reading books, articles in developing my language, writing and self-learning.

I look forward to a career in electronics.

    Regards,

    Srikanth.
