Board Of Trustees Candidate - Frank Lewis

I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for the position of Ordinary Member for the BOT

Below is my candidate statement

Frank Lewis - Auckland


Frank has over 40 years working in the engineering environment, mostly in continuous process plant in the UK, South Africa and Australasia. Frank has held the positions of Plant Engineer, Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager and Plant Manager in a range of industries such as food manufacture, deep level mining, sugar milling, explosives and chemicals and glass manufacture. For the last 12 years, Frank has focused on the design and delivery of electrical transmission and distribution projects in New Zealand and internationally. Most recently Frank was a Senior Electrical Engineer for Jacobs Ltd. He now consults to them on an ad hoc basis. Frank has been an active volunteer of the IET for over 25 years with 7 being a member of Council. Frank chaired the Future and Current Strategy working party for the last Council session before the implementation of G4F. Frank has produced and edited several Council Papers. In New Zealand, Frank has performed the roles of LN Chair, NZ Forum Chair and LN committee member in Auckland and Wellington. He is currently on the Auckland LN committee. He acts as a liaison between the IET and other professional bodies in New Zealand. Most recently. Frank’s primary focus has been the delivery of a STEM based national School’s Outreach programme, Project X for IET in conjunction with IPENZ and the IET Schools Liaison Community. “I feel that it is important for the IET to remain relevant internationally. As a Board of Trustees Member, I see my role of energising the IET in this area. The IET schools outreach initiatives can aid this.”
