L.V switch gear

Hi,

I'm new to the IET so bear with me while i familaiarize myself. Does any one know of any Regs for a Low voltage section board 415volts, (Feeds 3 D.B's), a wood frame was constructed around it with plaster board walls, an acess door is there but is wood allowed in the construction. I have noticed the Regs state for a domestic dwelling but this is a Factory.

Thanks

    Hello Philip,

Not sure quite what your context is, but, from the way I read your post I see no issue, unless, the wood & plasterboard forms the enclosure over the live parts.

If this "section board" is merely a large metal 3ph panel board then this secondary wood/plasterboard enclosure is merely cosmetic and forms no part of the electrical installation.

You would get more help on the wiring regulations forum here:

    www.theiet.org/.../categories.cfm

However, with just your existing description to go from it will be difficult to say definitively.
  • Thank you for the advice. As it's secondary to the 3phase
enclosure which is metal there's no issue.  Appreciate your
    help.

    Thanks

    Philip
