I had been asked on how the reading of the above meter is to be read. There is  Xp=100 on the name plate. CT ratio is according to name plate.

Do we read the meter directly or muiltply the reading with 100?

  • Chris,

My immediate reaction is that it is a direct reading, i.e. the numbers on the meter are the figure you want, assuming the connection is as stated on the name plate, however you have got me starting to doubt myself. I am still 95% certain it is a direct reading but if you want to remove any doubt, check what load is connected and see how fast the reading goes up. You will probably not get the connected load correct within a few percent but you are not going to be out by a large enough percentage to give any doubt, which would need an error of about 1000%.
