How electric meters behave.

Our local Bowling club has a fairly new three phase meter. We also have a solar panel array connected to the most heavily used phase.

I know that modern meters do not "run backwards", however can anyone tell me how they are likely to behave when one phase is exporting and the other two importing power. ,i.e. do they meter each phase separately and record the sum of those that are importing or do they meter all three, add them together and record the overall power being imported?

Many thanks,
