Certified copies of qualifications for international registration of IEng

Good afternoon,

Im about to apply for IEng registration through the IET. As im abroad, the IETs FAQ page states:

"
You will need to provide a copy of your qualification(s) or work-based learning certificate(s) and transcript(s) which should be signed as a true copy of the original by one of your supporters"

This may sound like a silly question, but how exactly is this done? I am assuming i scan my original qualification, have my sponsor sign them as true copies, and this again? Could someone please confirm my assumption is correct, or if its not - what should i do?

Many thanks,

Lee.

    cheers,

    Lee.
