A house is being refurbished. In the old bathroom was a tangle of earth wires around the pipes that connected to the earth conductors for the cables used for the lighting and upstairs socket circuits. A new bathroom has been installed complete with new plumbing and the electrics have been partially rewired. The only electrical devices in the bathroom are a ceiling light and an extractor fan run from the lighting circuit.
Is the correct earthing / equipotential circuit to connect the cold water pipe, the hot water pipe, and the radiator pipes together then connect this to the earth for the lighting circuit? That way all metal objects will be at the same potential. The upstairs socket earth doesn't need to be connected because there is nothing on this circuit in the bathroom.
