Interesting article from the 1970s on the future of autonomous vehicles

I just came cross this by chance - he was always a very interesting writer.

  • Given this was the same year that Intel released the world's first 4-bit microprocessor (the 4004), this was precient in many respects, but less so in others, such as, in not seeing the demise of the rotary phone as a user interface for an autonoums vehicle!
    Comtemporaneus with this article was the development of a Personal Rapid Transit System concept in the late 1960s and early 70s.  This 5-minute YouTube video provides an interesting overview.
