Hello Electrical & IT engineers, has anyone come across PoE lighting within the UK? If so can someone point me to some research of technical information. quick web search and youtube shows the development but mainly small scale lighting and within Denmark & USA. One of the university has asked if we can implement this system into a project for 2018 to demonstrate the university's innovation potential however I cant find the UK manufactures, required regulations or even if the system is safe?.
I have a few doubts and concerns with this system but am finding this subject very interesting. voltdrop being a big concern and the I2R losses etc.. PoE has been around for years and with the LED technology developing it sounds feasible. From what I can see the concept is still in its infancy stages and is probably still 5 years away. any pointers, webpages, EU manufactures, BSEN's etc..is greatly appreciated.
