IEng - Professional Development Scheme

I am currently in the process of applying for IEng on the IETs career manager,

At registration checkout, their are 8 sections on the checklist, and 4 is Professional Development Scheme.

I am unsure as to what I can actually put in here. I live abroad in Gibraltar, and this system that seems to exist certainly doesn't exist here. I've taken various training courses ive had to badger my employer for, but no where here has formal professional development schemes.

Can anyone suggest what exactly i'm supposed to put in here, if I can state the above situation, or am I now unable to apply for IEng without this?

Thanks for any help guys
  • Hi Lee,

This is not a mandatory requirement, so feel free to leave it blank.

    Thanks for that Kathryn,

Although you can skip this, I trust it isn't detrimental my application by leaving this blank?
  • It won't be detrimental to your application as all candidates are treated individually on their own merit and we appreciate that not everyone has a graduate or IPD scheme supporting them.  As long as you have read and understood the requirements for UK-SPEC and can make a good application then this will be considered.

The best advice I can give is to speak to a Professional Registration Advisor before you submit your application  as a final check as they are there to support you.  You can find the details of one in your local area at: www.theiet.org/advice.
