Popular transistors in Japan

Does anybody know the device numbers of popular transistors in Japan used by hobbyists, education, prototyping etc?


The devices that would be used when we use a 2N2222 or a BC548?


Many, but not all, Japanese transistors have part numbers beginning with 2S followed by a letter denoting the type of the device followed by a number.

    Have a look at Tower's International Transistor Selector - Great book, has equivalents for everything and a good explanation of Japanese vs Euro and US transistor types.
