Model contracts question

Hi All

I decided to clean up my act contractually so I sent the IET model contract to a solicitor for comment.  They said (for £160):

"My major concerns centre around the fact that the contract refers to 3 Schedules that you do not have defined in writing. The contract states “The Client (Vulcanic UK Limited) shall pay the Consultant such sums or at such rates, excluding VAT (if any), as are set out in Schedule 1 – Consultancy Charges”. It then goes on to say “In exchange for the Consultancy Charges, the Consultant undertakes to provide Consultancy Services particulars of which are set out in Schedule 2 – Scope of Services”. You describe that the scope of the services is not defined until you arrive on site, by which time you would have already contracted with Vulcanic UK Limited and these terms and conditions would already be in place. The Third Schedule relates to facilities provided by the Client."

So does anyone have or use these three missing schedules?

  • I hope it's that easy.  I suppose I will write them in plain language and pass them by my solicitor (another £160).  The other problem is my contract has now been changed to a Spanish company to get round Brexit.
