Post war immigration and the situation of engineering in Britain today

This might come across as a contentious subject...

If mass post war immigration from New Commonwealth countries never happened then would the situation of engineering in Britain today be any different?
  • Welll, I can't see how the legacy effects of immigration on the present day availability of engineering education would be any different to having had no commonwealth immigration policy. There are prospective engineers out there and all need training.

    Legh
  • Without all the post war immigration, I would expect engineering to be dominated by middle-class white men.

    Instead it's... Oh, never mind.
