Masonry Drill bits

Which drills do you guys use can be SDS or not, which don’t tend to slip out as easy when starting on hard surfaces such as engineering brick

    I use a target spot of gaffer tape or similar to make a non-skid start in smooth surfaces if  a masonry nail as centre -punch is not appropriate. Also sometimes a quick whizz with hammer action off to break the 'glaze' of the surface - there are a few variations on the theme, it rather depends on the cost of the surface, and how ragged a hole is acceptable.
