Confessions of an Electrician...

So while we’ve not been able to log into the community (you can do so now if you didn’t already know) I’ve been keeping myself out of mischief Blush by going through some of the discussion topics on the old Wiring Regs forum and came across this one: Walking off site where some of you were sharing stories about your experiences with client's pets while on the job.

So I thought it would be a bit of fun to ask you to share some of your funny/bizarre or just weird stories (keeping it relatively clean and protecting the privacy of others please!) from any jobs you’ve been on or done.

… And I’ll send some swag to the author of the story that gets voted the ‘Most helpful/liked’ from the community so don't forget to hit that 'Good Answer' link on any that make you chuckle! (Log in required)

Not me but my brother (honestly)...

Working as part of a hospital radio station team,

Mention of hospital radio and it all came flooding back . . . . .

In the sixth form at school I spent a lot of my spare time volunteering as a technician at hospital radio.  I was studio manager one evening shift, busy with a record request programme, then put a tape on for the scheduled pre-recorded church service.  You can have a cup of coffee then with just checking through the headphones from time to time that the tape is still running.  I got my coffee and checked - silence!  I knew we had a dodgy tape deck but didn't think it was that one.  Anyway, I had a disc of easy listening music ready on the turntable so I started that and went to get an announcer into the studio to give an apology.  Then it struck me - the tape that was playing was of the Remembrance Day service.

I'm sure nobody noticed the burst of Gilbert and Sullivan during the two minute's silence.
