  • Dear Luciano, The statistics published in this report and many other similar reports should come as no surprise since we live in a world where the majority of the capital and financial 'drivers' are actually designed to favour the rich getting richer whilst the 'drivers' such as charities and meagre development funds designed to tackle poverty, are sadly, not even scratching the surface and are coming second or third best every time any transaction or trading 'deal' is made.

In any event true wealth is to be found in community, family, co-operative working, groups of associates rather than bosses and workers etc. It is indeed appropriate that the very wealthy should be 'shamed' into giving 100 times more to good causes e.g.: the provision of clean water and proper medical care to vast populations etc.

Surely, it is the duty of world wide organisations, such as The United Nations, to put increasing pressure on the Governments of all third world countries, to start to take full responsibility for their own people rather than driving them out of their broken homes and communities to become reluctant refugees that the surrounding wealthier countries have to reluctantly accomodate. Just saying - IMHO.
