Adding 71 liters of gasoline to a diesel engine

Hello everyone,

This message is for automotive or mechanical engineers only.

pay attention!!!

A customer claims that he accidentally put gasoline in place of a diesel in the Toyota LANCROZER 2008 model

The customer claims a vehicle traveled 14 km until he heard engine noises.

Questions:
  1. Is it possible that a vehicle can travel 14 km?

  • Will the engine work briefly and after a few meters stop?

  • Will the engine not work?

  • I would love to get feedback.

Thanks

  • Yes, Benyamin, and I saw your earlier post. I certainly do not want to question your analysis of engine behaviour; I think we are all broadly in agreement with what happens. You said you wrote a legal opinion for a client. Any opinions I express in this Forum are mine personally and I would not offer an opinion on a professional level to back a legal case. The case of the Toyota Land Cruiser sounds exceptional.

We have had a healthy discussion of the various consequences of putting petrol in a diesel engine. Thank you for raising this interesting topic.
