Waste to Energy Optimization

Are you working in waste-to-energy optimization? This challenge is for you!



We are pleased to invite you to participate in the A2A Challenge: Waste to Energy Optimization. A2A is looking for a collaboration partner to implement a system for use in its waste-to-energy plants to effectively homogenize the feed waste stream, reduce the variations in heat content, and ensure greater stability and efficiency of the combustion process. If you have the right proposal, you could have the opportunity to partner with A2A.



A2A Ambiente’s waste-to-energy plants transform undifferentiated urban waste into energy through a process of incineration in a boiler. As with any energy system incorporating a boiler, the plants operate most efficiently when the energy content of the fuel source is as stable as possible. Unfortunately in the case of waste-to-energy plants, the calorific value of the waste being fed into the boiler varies significantly on a 5-10 minute time scale.

    This is a big problem but unfortunately so is the type of incineration plant they are wanting to fuel , I would be looking at some of the plants Valmart have been doing recently for waste lignin from wood pulp , however some new incineration technology is being developed using oxy fuel process to get very high temperatures of thermal decomposition on paper figures suggest a fuel to electricity conversion of at least 50%, which would be quite an improvement .?,
